Andrew Revering | Cold War History
Andrew C. Revering served as a Sentry Dog Handler in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965 at Blytheville Air Force Base, where he protected the Strategic Air Command Alert Facility and safeguarded nuclear weapons. In this interview, Revering reflects on his experiences working with military dogs, including Chips, Duke I, and Duke II. After his military service, he transitioned his canine expertise into law enforcement, becoming a police dog handler with K-9 King in 1967. King’s success in the field helped pioneer the creation of police dog units across neighboring states.
